    Title: 紋新雕龍─春秋龍紋的創意與設計應用

    Abstract: 在一片追逐文化創意產業設計的熱潮中,如何有效且系統性地運用傳統的資源,以創意來驅使文化的價值的再現,並在差異化的有效策略上創造現代市場的接受度,是視覺傳達設計者面對這樣一個當紅課題應該慎加思考審視的。鑑於現代文化或商業市場上創意設計繽紛,但卻多流於傳統元素的即興運用,比較少見具有差異性特色的設計作品出現,因此本研究創作從中國豐富的傳統紋飾資源中取材,透過文獻的搜尋研究,提出別具特色的春秋時代的玉器龍紋飾飾做為研究主題,藉由學者考據的傳統特色設計手法,導入西方美的形式原理與系統設計的原理,開發創作出一套可以承先啟後的新紋飾系統,並選擇現代產品做為新紋飾設計應用的示範。目的在:1.設計開發一套兼具傳統中國與現代市場風貌的新紋飾;2.建立本紋飾的設計系統,讓它能彈性應用於現代商品的設計開發;3.記錄完整的設計流程與系統規劃方式,做為文化創意產業設計的參考。本創作藉由藝術史學者所考據的紋飾構成原則,在西方設計美的形式的原理下重新審視,再透過現代時尚品牌商品的紋飾分析,發現現代商品設計上紋飾的系統特色,並提出下述策略進行創作:1.以傳統紋飾特色為基礎,借用西方字體設計的形式加入新的創意元素,藉此形成新樣式,做為可以受專利保障的形式。2.以系統設計的手法來組織元素,形成設計應用的規則。3.讓系統規則具開放性,能容許與外來元素進行搭配設計應用。4.新的紋飾無論是圖案或是組合的策略,都應能合乎現代市場的品味需求,達到以文化創新來創造市場接受性的目標。新的春秋龍紋系統具備了現代的形式與傳統造型方法上的特色,並備有基本的設計與變化應用的原則,讓新紋飾在與時尚品牌的產品結合應用上展現了設計的新意象。
    Facing the upsurge of the cultural creative industries, it is a major concern for a visual communication designer to think about how to employ the traditional resources effectively and systematically, to represent the cultural value with creativity, and to create the market acceptability under the differential strategy. This research and design thesis looks into the Chinese traditional patterns and proposes the dragon motif of the Spring and autumn era of the jade through the literature review as the subject, and combine its unique design methodology with the Western formal principle of aesthetics to develop a new motif system which can be traced back to the old culture, and then, products are applied to demonstrate the versatility of this new motif. This thesis aims at: 1) Develop a series of new motif with both the look of traditional Chinese and modern style. 2) Establish the design system of this motif and ensure its flexibility of application. 3) Record the complete design process and methodology as a valuable reference. Through the research contribution of art history scholars in the formal principles and the analysis of modern pattern cases, several strategies are revealed: 1) Based on the unique tradition, the elementary forms derived from western font are applied to create a motif can be patented. 2) Compose the elementary forms with the way of system design to form an application rule. 3) Open up the compatibility of the system to allow the design composition with the elements from other branded patterns. 4) New motif, graphics or the composition strategy, should be able to reflect the taste of modern consumer market. The final design of new Spring and Autumn dragon motif reveals a fine compatibility with the modern fashion branded products, leaves them an old but new look.
